Berkshires are one of the oldest pig breeds. They are black with six white markings: four white socks, a white splash on the snout, and a white tip to the tail. They are non-aggressive pigs with a very happy temperament. We are confident about spending time around our Berkshires; being that they are slightly smaller than most other pure breeds.  But that doesn’t mean we are going to move in with them. Even though Berkshire are classified as medium size, boars can reach 600lbs with the sows coming in at 500lbs. Our pigs are so friendly that they like to rub up against us and that is enough to knock us over.
